Privacy Policy
Effective October 1, 2026
This explains what SoloLedger (operated by SparkieLabs) collects, why, and who else handles it. The short version: we collect what we need to run your bookkeeping, we don’t sell your data, and we don’t run advertising or tracking.
What we collect
- Account details: your email address and name, and your sign-in method (email code or GitHub).
- Your business records: everything you enter, such as businesses, income, expenses, mileage, vehicles, clients, jobs, imported transactions, and details extracted from scanned receipts.
- Billing status: your plan, subscription status and payment reference IDs. We never see or store your full card number.
- Basic technical data: standard server logs (such as IP address and request details) needed to run and secure the service.
How we use it
- to provide and secure the service and your account;
- to process payments and manage your plan;
- to read receipts you choose to scan;
- to contact you about your account, billing or important changes;
- to fix problems and improve SoloLedger.
Receipt scanning
When you scan a receipt, the image is sent to Anthropic’s AI service to read the text. We save only the extracted details (vendor, date, amount, category and notes) and do not keep the image. Anthropic handles the image under its own terms.
Who else handles your data
We use these providers to run the service:
- Neon: database and sign-in service.
- Vercel: hosting.
- Stripe: card payments and billing management.
- Strike: Bitcoin Lightning payments and exchange rates.
- Anthropic: receipt reading, as described above.
- GitHub: only if you choose to sign in with GitHub.
- An email provider: to send sign-in codes and account emails.
We share data with them only as needed to provide the service. We may also disclose information if the law requires it. We don’t sell your personal information.
Cookies and similar storage
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in, and your browser’s local storage to remember your chosen theme. We don’t use advertising or analytics trackers.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. You can delete individual records in the app. To close your account and have your data deleted, email us. Backups may keep copies for a limited time before they are overwritten. We may keep limited billing records as the law requires.
Security
We use reasonable measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and access controls. No online service can promise perfect security, so please use a strong sign-in method.
Your choices
You can ask to access, correct, export or delete your information by emailing us. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local privacy law, and we will respect them.
Children
SoloLedger is for people 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
If we change this policy in a significant way, we will tell you in the app or by email. The effective date above shows when it last changed.
