Terms of Service

These terms apply to your use of SoloLedger, a bookkeeping tool for independent workers, operated by SparkieLabs (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using SoloLedger you agree to them. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

1. Your account

• You must be at least 18 years old.
• Keep your sign-in details secure. You are responsible for activity on your account.
• Give us accurate information and tell us if you think your account has been accessed by someone else.

2. What SoloLedger is, and is not

SoloLedger helps you record and organize income, expenses, mileage, receipts and related business records. It is a record-keeping tool. It is not tax, accounting, legal or financial advice. Tax estimates, tax rules, categories, mileage rates and Bitcoin/USD conversions are provided for convenience and may be incomplete or out of date. You are responsible for the accuracy of your records and tax filings. Please check anything important with a qualified professional.

3. Your data

The records you enter are yours. You give us permission to store and process them only to run the service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy. Keep your own backups of anything you can’t afford to lose.

4. Receipt scanning

When you scan a receipt, the image is sent to a third-party AI service to read the text. We save the extracted details (such as vendor, date and amount) and not the image. AI reading can make mistakes. Please review every scanned receipt before relying on it.

5. Plans and payment

• Free plan: available at no charge, with the limits shown on our pricing page.
• Pro and Early Adopter plans: paid, monthly or yearly, at the price shown when you subscribe. The Early Adopter price is available until the date shown on the pricing page and stays the same while your subscription remains active.
• Card payments are handled by Stripe and renew automatically each period until you cancel.
• Lightning payments are prepaid for one billing period and do not renew automatically. Prices are shown in US dollars; Bitcoin amounts are calculated at the time of payment.
• We may change prices for future periods. We will give notice before a change affects you.
• You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your purchase.

6. Cancelling

You can cancel a card subscription at any time from Settings → Plan & billing → Manage billing. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for, and you keep Pro features until then. After that, your account returns to the Free plan, and your records stay available within Free plan limits.

7. Refunds

Payments are non-refundable except where the law requires otherwise. If you were charged by mistake or something went wrong, email us within 14 days and we will review it in good faith.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• break the law or use SoloLedger for fraud;
• try to access other people’s accounts or data;
• probe, overload or attack the service, or work around plan limits or security;
• resell or share a paid account with people outside your business.

9. Availability and changes

We work to keep SoloLedger running, but we don’t promise it will always be available or error-free. We may change or remove features, and we may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.

10. Disclaimer and liability

SoloLedger is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, SparkieLabs is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits, lost data, or tax penalties arising from your use of the service, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply fully to you.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app or by email. Continuing to use SoloLedger after a change means you accept it.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
